Spiritual Arts and Practices

SNUUC offers a number of programs that nurture and develop the spirit. For more info please contact SNUUC@optonline.net

Among the current programs are:

The Women's Journaling Circle
The Women's Journaling Circle meets monthly and is co-led by participants. This is a time for yourself to write from the heart.

Lectio Divina
Lectio Divina is an ancient practice of reading and meditation on scripture. In this series we use contemporary poetry and music. We listen deeply and explore the feelings and bodily sensations that arise, as well as the words and phrases that resonated. Finally, we put it all together to discover the message for us and our lives. Meets on the second and fourth Mondays.

Meditation
Life can be found only in the present moment.
The past is gone, the future is not yet here,
and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment,
we cannot be in touch with life.
- Thich Nhat Hanh
Wake up a little earlier on Saturday and join the Meditation Group (aka the South Ocean Sangha). Our group practice meets at 9 am Saturdays. This group is open to beginners. All you need to do is take a seat.

Small Group Ministry
Small Group Ministry is a program of groups of 6-8 people who meet monthly and share about a topic chosen for the month. Topics have included Fear, Clothes, Music, The Meaning of Life, and more. In these groups people get to know one another and even learn something about themselves.
